Chris McKinney is the man with the master plan.

A 7-step sports career launching plan to be exact.

As President and CEO of SPORTS LAUNCH™, Chris McKinney is dedicated to helping college students and career-changers break into the sports industry.

“The best plan for launching a new career,” says McKinney, “is one based on passion. When you’re passionate about something and you pour your heart and soul into it, you’ll be unstoppable.”

“The best plan for launching a new career is one based on passion.”

Chris’ “unstoppable” career-launching plan can be found in his new book entitled, How to Land Your First Job in Sports: 7 Simple Steps.

“Launching a career in sports is a lot like launching a new product,” says McKinney. “The principles are the same. It’s about knowing how to position yourself against the competition and engaging your target audience in a meaningful and relevant way.”

Sports marketing and new product launches are two areas of expertise for Chris. As a college senior he started a sports marketing company that helped launch new products, including Frito Lay’s Wavy Lays brand potato chips.

Chris’ experience in sports and advertising spans nearly 20 years and includes work with the NFL, NBC Sports, and the Dallas Mavericks.

“Those experiences have proven to be invaluable to my life’s work today,” says McKinney. “As much as I love sports marketing, it’s not nearly as rewarding as helping other people achieve their career goals.”

Chris is married and lives with his wife and two children in the Dallas area where they contribute to their church and several charitable organizations.
